Bargain hunting in Munich: Discover two flea markets at the weekend!
On the weekend of June 20th and 21st, 2025, the Bavarian metropolis of Munich once again had a lot to offer - especially two flea markets that attracted both bargain hunters and lovers of vintage treasures. Particularly noteworthy is the flea market in the Olympic Park, organized by the Bavarian Red Cross.
With its opening hours from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Olympic Park offered many opportunities for vendors who could offer their bric-a-brac without prior registration. Anyone interested simply had to bring a table with them and could enjoy the selling experience for a small price of 12 to 15 euros. Staying in the parking lot was also subject to the rules and selling directly from the vehicle was not permitted. This flea market tradition continues regularly on Fridays and Saturdays in the Olympic Park, covering an impressive 35,000 square meters. In addition to exciting stands, you can also enjoy culinary offerings here.
Variety for every taste
But there wasn't just something on offer in the Olympic Park. The court flea market also took place in Berg am Laim on June 21st. The charming backyards, gardens and garages offered all kinds of bargains and unique items - from clothing and toys to household goods and homemade products. However, in order to participate as a seller, registration was required, which had to be done online at least three weeks in advance. Here buyers had the opportunity to learn interesting stories about the individual pieces and perhaps even talk to the sellers.
For anyone interested in Munich's flea market scene, it's worth taking a look at the variety of offerings: For example, there's the giant flea market on Theresienwiese, which takes place once a year in April and is known for its 1,600 stalls. Or the antique market in Daglfing, which takes place weekly and offers rarities, furniture and vintage items under shady trees at the trotting track. Food stalls in the antique house ensure the physical well-being of visitors.
Tips for flea market visitors
If you want to get the best bargains, you should heed some useful tips. Getting up early is essential to get ahead of the competition. Cash as a means of payment is a must because not every seller has the option to accept cards. And if you stroll through the aisles with your eyes open, you will not only discover the best frames, but also interesting contacts with people with the same interests.
A free flea market guide is also available and provides valuable tips and tricks for buyers and sellers to make the flea market experience even more successful and enjoyable.
Whether in the Olympic Park, Berg am Laim or at one of the many other flea markets in the city, Munich's flea market landscape has something to offer for everyone. Here you will not only find great deals, but also the colorful stories of the objects and their former owners.
