Neu-Ulm is booming: 7.5 % more tourists in the first half of the year!
The district of Neu-Ulm can look back on a gratifying year in tourism. From January to July 2025, the region recorded an increase in the number of guests of 7.5 % compared to the same period last year. The overnight stays also shot by 5.4 %, which underpins the popularity of new ULM among travelers. Above all, the district stands out from the overall region of Bavarian Swabia, which has a total of slight declines this year. These developments are positively emphasized by Nadine Schmieder, the district's tourism officer. In doing so, it emphasizes the large number of activities that Neu-Ulm has to offer.
In absolute numbers, this means: In the first seven months of this year there were 176,527 arrivals and 312,582 overnight stays in Neu-Ulm. In comparison, the city of Augsburg has recorded 366,766 arrangements and 658,495 overnight stays, while the district of Günzburg can come up with 318,159 arrivals and 556,181 overnight stays. In order to keep up in the region, innovations and offers are required that appeal to both locals and tourists. This is where Neu-Ulm comes in with a wide range of leisure and cultural offers.
Culture and activities for everyone
What does visitors move into the district? In addition to the impressive landscapes around swimming lakes and rivers, it is in particular the cultural highlights that make the district attractive. Various venues, including the Roggenburg monastery library and the baroque hall of the Illertissen Vöhlin Castle, offer a variety of cultural events. From the international chamber music series to organ concerts to jazz concerts and dramas - there is something for everyone here. The “Roggenburger Summer” series of events, which always attracts numerous visitors, is also particularly popular.
Neu-Ulm is also a real paradise for cyclists. With three premium cycle paths-the Danube Cycle Path, the Iller cycle path and the Danube valleys-the region offers countless possibilities for cycling explorers. In addition, there are seven district's and thematic cycles that are specially tailored to the needs of bike enthusiasts. One of the latest cycling rounds, the orchard round, leads directly past the fruit variety preservation garden in the district pattern garden.
