Film in Neumarkt: Inclusive project for creative young people!
The Neumarkt District Youth Association is bringing a breath of fresh air into the 2025 summer holidays! From August 26th to 29th, the team invites young people aged 10 and over to an inclusive film project entitled "Your look. Your film. Your festival." is known. The event takes place daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Neumarkt district and promises exciting insights into the world of filmmaking.
Under the motto “Filming together – overcoming boundaries”, young people with and without disabilities should come together to produce their own film in a creative environment. With professional guidance from an award-winning director, participants will be introduced to the basics of filmmaking: from idea development to script to camera work and film editing. The content of the film is largely determined by the young people's creative ideas. The finished film will be presented in November 2025 at the Oberpfalz Youth Film Festival in the Cineplex Neumarkt.
Integration through film
This project is not just an exciting workshop, but aims to promote the participation of all young people in cultural life. Since its adoption in 2006, the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has had the fundamental goal of ensuring equal rights and full participation in social life. Unfortunately, the reality in Germany still shows great differences in the implementation of inclusion, especially in the education sector. Inclusion recognizes the diversity of all people as a value and is a crucial step in the right direction.
Further training in the field of film offers a valuable opportunity to put inclusion into practice. The media advisory service for the Upper Palatinate district supports the project to ensure that it is both integrative and beneficial for all participants. The organizers of the Neumarkt District Youth Association and the Neumarkt Special Education Day Center have taken on this important challenge and are enabling young people to express their voices through film. This is another step to address critical issues while encouraging fun and creativity.
How to participate?
The number of participants is limited: a total of ten places are available for interested young people, five of which are reserved for participants in the special education day care center. Registrations are processed through the Neumarkt district youth association, and it is advisable to act quickly to secure one of the coveted places. Further information and registration options can be found on the Neumarkt District Youth Council website.
Film can be an invaluable medium for promoting inclusion and diversity in society. The inclusive film project not only offers young people the opportunity to develop their creative potential, but also to overcome boundaries together and develop a strong sense of community. In a world where participation and equality should be paramount, this is an excellent initiative to put into action.
For all those who have always wanted to know how a film is made and also want to have fun, the Neumarkt District Youth Ring project is just the thing!
