Player-coach Jan Liebscher cited recurring problems, such as a lack of consistency and penetration, as the main reasons for the defeat. “If you make mistakes in good phases, it drags the entire team down,” explained Liebscher. The VGF is considered rather inexperienced and reacts sensitively to small imponderables, which became clearly noticeable during the course of the game.
