Bavaria's cheese art: 19 delicious specialties honored!
There are many treasures in Bavaria - and some of them are particularly delicious! Today, Bavaria's Agriculture Minister Michaela Kaniber honored 19 outstanding cheese specialties as part of the “Bavarian Cheese Treasures Wanted 2025” competition. The award-winning cheeses tell stories about the lush mountain meadows and the craftsmanship of the cheesemakers. In the spirit of “good things from the country”, the products are intended to strengthen the appreciation for regional specialties Allgäu hit reported.
The selection of cheese is impressive: The awards go primarily to smaller, artisan cheese dairies from different regions of Bavaria that work with passion and creativity. The festive award ceremony takes place in September at the cheese market in Munich, where the public has the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Bavarian cheese culture.

The cheese dairies from the Allgäu region were particularly successful, and their products were highly valued by the jury. Prominent winners include:
- Bio-Schaukäserei Wiggensbach (Oberallgäu)

- Wiggensbacher Roter Casanova (Halbfester Schnittkäse, Rotschmiere)
