Young ice hockey players are thrilled in Weiden: Exciting games on the weekend!

There were exciting youth games in Weiden last weekend that captivated the spectators. On October 25th and 26th, 2025, the Young Blue Devils were represented by several teams on the ice. There were both pleasing and challenging results for the talents from Weiden.

The U7 Bambini in particular caused a remarkable stir at the tournament on October 25th. The Young Blue Devils U7, VER Selb U7, EV Pegnitz U7 and ERSC Amberg U7 were there. It was their second appearance in front of a large audience and the young team showed a promising performance.

Results of the U11 and U13

The U11 small school students II competed against the ERSC Amberg U11 in Ingolstadt on October 26th. In a very close comparison, both teams delivered a thrilling exchange of blows. The U13 boys, however, had a less fortunate day. They had to play against EHF Passau in Passau on the same day and clearly lost 2:11. The statistics show that the Young Blue Devils had to serve a total of 6 penalty minutes in 60 minutes, while their opponents only received 2 minutes.

It was a different story for the U17 youth, who had luck on their side in a thrilling game. After a 4-0 deficit against EC Heilbronn, the Young Blue Devils fought for a 6-5 victory after a penalty shootout in the Bayernliga, largely thanks to a decisive goal from Luis Meier.

The U20 juniors and other games

The U20 juniors were in action twice on October 25th. First in Grafing against EHC Klostersee, where they lost 1:5, followed by a second leg that was narrowly lost 1:2. A controversial equalizer that came with the final siren was not recognized after video analysis. The double defeat hurts, but ultimately the decisive factor was the exploitation of opportunities.

A look at the coming weeks shows that all teams will play competitive games from November 1st to 2nd. The U11 small school students I will play in Nuremberg against EHC 80 Nürnberg I, while the U15 students will play in Weiden against ERV Schweinfurt U15 and SG Amberg/Regensburg II U15. The U20 juniors will also be in action on both days. In addition, EV Weiden 1b will compete against ESC Haßfurt 1b in Haßfurt on November 2nd.

Overall, it remains to be seen how the young players will use their experience from the last games to further hone their development in the coming period. The young ice hockey players in the Weiden area are definitely on the right path and have good skills!
