Passau District Music School breaks records in exams – 80 talents in focus!

A lot has happened at the Passau district music school in the last few weeks. Over 5,000 students and 74 dedicated teachers make this institution one of the largest music schools in southern Germany. This year a real record was set: 80 participants registered for the Voluntary Performance Tests (FLP), which took place over three days in June and July, and as a result there is great excitement among the students PNP reported.

The exams took place in the district office branch, where meeting rooms and hallways were optimally used for the musical performances. District Administrator Raimund Kneidinger also took the opportunity to visit the young talents at the exam location and was impressed by the organization.

Student creativity and engagement

The voluntary performance tests are an important part of the music experience. Subject to coordination with their teachers, students can take part in these exams to demonstrate their musical abilities. This year the exams covered a total of 35 instrumental subjects as well as vocals, which made participation inevitably exciting. Regardless of age, instrument or level of performance – everyone was able to actively participate and show what they were made of.

It is particularly pleasing that students who need compensation for disadvantages can also take part in the exams. This is decided individually and can be submitted in the form of an application to the responsible authority. A school psychological or medical report is required.

Achievements and awards

Successful participants received badges and certificates. A remarkable success was achieved by Veronika Mauritz from Untergriesbach, who won the “Bronze Tuning Fork” on the violin. Such successes not only motivate the students, but also show how much talent there is in this region.

The voluntary performance tests have proven to be an ideal means of promoting students' musical commitment and at the same time offering them a platform to demonstrate their skills. The organization of these exams under the direction of Kurt Brunner, the head of the district music school, has proven to be extremely successful, as the numerous participants show. Passau district highlights that these events not only promote musical skills, but also strengthen student community.

It remains to be hoped for everyone involved that the Passau District Music School will continue to be as lively and that many more such successful events will be organized. The anticipation for the upcoming exams is certainly already great!
