Creative workshop: Experience theater and writing from November 21st to 23rd!
Something exciting is happening in Cologne! From November 21st to 23rd, 2025, a workshop weekend will take place at the W1 Center for Young Culture that encourages creative minds to transform their ideas into living words. Under the title “Play & Tell”, Benjamin Feiner, an experienced theater teacher and studied media scientist, guides the participants to promote their spontaneity and intuition and to reduce the fear of the blank page. Regensburg.de reports that the focus here is on a combination of theater education and writing workshops.
The workshop is aimed particularly at those interested in writing, acting and creativity between the ages of 14 and 26. Participation is free of charge, which makes the project particularly attractive. In order to take away the fear of thresholds, Feiner uses various communication and movement games to promote the liveliness of the language. Developing and telling stories together is also part of the program, which encourages participants to tell their own stories and thus overcome their personal inhibitions.
Insights into creative work
The committed theater maker and systemic therapist, who is the artistic director of the project, studied at the Berlin University of the Arts with a focus on biographical theater. Her passionate view of art as a means of reflecting on one's own biography will offer participants a very special experience. In a space where appreciation and creative development go hand in hand, everyone will be able to experience their personal story as valuable and touching. More about that is on Development Arts.de to read.
Biographical theater has gained importance since the 1970s. The target groups are not only actors, but also people who, for various reasons, have little access to art and culture. The focus here is on the guiding principle of “culture by everyone for everyone”. The initiatives aim to find new forms of representation that reflect people's everyday lives and to counteract social disadvantages. An interesting aspect of this can be found in the analysis of biographical theater in theater educational target group work Academia.edu is presented in detail.
The workshop weekend begins on Friday, November 21st at 6 p.m. and ends on Sunday, November 23rd at 5 p.m. Those interested should register early as places are limited and registration must be made by email, stating your age. Be there and discover the joy of creative expression!
