Musical contrasts: Duo ars² inspires in Wechterswinkel!

On December 27, 2025, the audience can expect a very special musical event in the picturesque Wechterswinkel Monastery. The internationally awarded musician Samira Spiegel and the composer Anne Riegler appear as duo:ars² to present the title “Kontraste” as part of their concert. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and offers a varied program that allows listeners to expect both classical elegance and contemporary sounds.

The program includes outstanding works, including Mozart's famous Sonata in E minor KV 304 and Piazzolla's stirring “Libertango”. The performance of Mozart's Sonata in C major KV 521 for four hands will be particularly exciting, as it will demonstrate the duo's enthusiasm for playing. After a short break, the dances from Piazzolla's “Histoire du Tango” will be presented, enabling a musical journey through different eras and styles.

Variety of performances

The musical diversity is underlined not only by the selection of pieces, but also by the different game formats. The audience can look forward to piano solo, violin solo, as well as piano four hands and the combination of violin and piano. Riegler will also present her own piece “Sonata unstable”, dedicated to her mother, giving the concert a personal touch.

Samira Spiegel, who made her orchestral debut as a violinist at the age of 13, brings with her impressive experience from her concert activities in Europe. Her debut CD “Inspired by Bach” was released in 2021 and contains an exciting selection of baroque, romantic and contemporary works. Spiegel, a passionate chamber musician, has also served as concertmaster at the Klangforum Wien and will shine on the violin and piano parts in the evening.

A festival for music lovers

This event is part of an extensive calendar of musical performances that enrich both the regional and national cultural scene. In addition to the upcoming duo:ars² concert, Anne Riegler will present another highlight: On December 24th, a Christmas musical will take place in the Christ Church in Bad Neustadt at 3:30 p.m., which is also based on Riegler's compositions.
The two musicians can also be seen in further concerts on September 26th at the Theater Bibrastraße and on May 8th in Ziegelsdorf, which once again underlines the diversity of their work.

In the meantime, Munich remains a center for classical music, and numerous performances, from orchestral sounds to concerts in intimate chamber music settings, remain popular. The city offers a diverse program in renowned locations such as the Gasteig and the Residenztheater, where music lovers can take a pleasant break from the musical life of the Bavarian capital.

So don't wait too long - the concert by Anne Riegler and Samira Spiegel in the Wechterswinkel Monastery on December 27th promises to be a highlight for all music lovers. Secure your seats and enjoy a night full of musical contrasts!
