Table of generations in Bad Königshofen: exchange between young and old!
In Bad Königshofen, the multi-generational house is a real hub for the citizens of the Rhön-Grabfeld and Münnerstadt regions. Young and old come together here to learn from each other and exchange ideas. A highlight of the program is the “Table of Generations”, which is held throughout Bavaria and where the focus is on a moderated dialogue. At the last meeting in October, around 25 young people and seniors took an active part and had a lot to report.
The event was led by moderator Stefan Glocker from Augsburg, who particularly praised the multicultural composition of the participants. The topics discussed here ranged from career choices to world events and a noticeable change in values. “The exchange is important in order to break down prejudices,” says Renate Knaut, the head of the Bad Königshofen educational location. It's about breaking down prejudices and promoting mutual understanding - a goal that is wonderfully reflected at the table of generations.
An event event for everyone
The multi-generational house, which is financed as part of a federal funding program run by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, offers around 100 events every year for all age groups. The “Together – For Each Other” program includes open meetings such as toddler groups, craft and game meetings as well as dance groups and German learning support. The free open groups, which take place every Tuesday to Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., are particularly popular, while on Mondays there are fixed offers such as the craft and games meeting.
The multi-generational house is located at Martin-Reinhard-Straße 37, where barrier-free access is via Schnellerstraße. Visitors are warmly welcomed by Renate Knaut, the on-site contact person. The “Open Meeting at the Grabfeld Meeting Point” at Martin-Reinhard-Straße 9 also offers space for encounters and exchange.
The response to the exchange
“The high level of response here shows how important this form of exchange is,” emphasizes moderator Glocker. In a Bavaria-wide comparison, the Bad Königshöfer table of generations particularly stands out with its diversity. This initiative not only promotes understanding between age groups, but also significantly highlights the value of volunteer work.
The multi-generational house in Bad Königshofen remains a meeting place where people discuss current topics and learn from each other. Anyone who is interested can get involved at any time and take a look at the upcoming events. The program will continue and everyone is welcome to become part of this special community.
