Honor for two: District medal awarded for Rosenheim volunteers!
On October 31, 2025, volunteers from the region will once again be honored at the Seeon Monastery Cultural and Education Center. The district of Upper Bavaria awards the coveted district medal to a total of 16 individuals who have distinguished themselves through their outstanding commitment to culture, health, the environment and social issues. Radio Charivari reports that two very special award winners were selected from the Rosenheim district.
Leonhard Eisner from Bad Aibling is honored for his many years of work in the cultural sector. Through numerous projects he has contributed to promoting cultural and community life in the region. At the same time, Wolfgang Schmid from Reitmehring received the award for his exemplary voluntary commitment to health and social services. Both are great examples of the tireless commitment that goes on in our community.
An award with tradition
The district medal has been awarded since 1990 and honors people who make a strong contribution to society. District Council President Josef Mederer emphasizes how indispensable volunteers are for our community. “Many people from a wide variety of areas deserve to be taken into account for their commitment,” explains Mederer. Every year, personalities are honored who have drawn attention to themselves in recent months through their commitment to helping others.
Particularly worth mentioning is the work of Franz Haidu from Münsing, who was also recognized for his achievements. As a music teacher and founding member of the Holzhausen music band, he has not only set musical accents over the years, but also built a strong community. His many years of activity as a conductor and the organization of numerous events are just a few of the points that justify his award. Mon Bavaria emphasizes that Haidu has taken on a role model function for many young musicians.
Insight into the importance of volunteering
But what makes volunteering so special? It is the dedication that is often made quietly, without fuss. The district medal not only stands for the recognition of individual achievements, but also for the appreciation of everyone who works every day for the well-being of their fellow human beings. We are pleased that this valuable work is so highly valued in Upper Bavaria!
The District Medal Ceremonies are therefore not only an opportunity to celebrate those honored, but also an opportunity to highlight the important values of the community. Volunteering is at the heart of many beautiful projects, and those responsible for the district recognize that with this award. One can only hope that this inspires future generations to follow this good example.
In the meantime, there are also modern ways to expand knowledge and skills in interesting ways, for example through interactive learning platforms like Gimkit. This platform turns learning into an exciting game where students can consolidate their knowledge through competition and collaboration. Committed teaching and learning is another aspect that brings the community together and promotes volunteerism. You can find out more about the possibilities of Gimkit at Gimkit.
