New daytime café Håvn” in Rosenheim: A rustic pleasure paradise!
Something exciting is happening in the gastronomic sector in Rosenheim! The wine bar “Das Faerber” gets new operators with Mona Hofmeister and Tom Waldhäusl. The two will take over the restaurant from January 2026 and want to continue running it under the new name “Håvn”. This has become clear in the last few days and the first plans are already being made.
Mona Hofmeister and Tom Waldhäusl bring a breath of fresh air into the scene. While Waldhäusl, who has been running the e-cigarette business “World Wide Vape” for six years, has no formal gastronomy studies, he has deeper roots in gastronomy, as he comes from a restaurant family. Hofmeister, on the other hand, studied sports science and works as a nutritionist. Together they found a suitable property after meeting Eric Brodka, the previous operator of “Faerber”. Brodka and his wife left the restaurant after a year and a half and now run the “Lok 1858”.
New concept for “Håvn”
The concept that Hofmeister and Waldhäusl are pursuing differs significantly from that of the previous restaurant. “Håvn” will be a daytime café with a rustic and cozy atmosphere. A cold kitchen with freshly baked cakes, homemade spreads, various breads and sweet and savory pancakes is planned. Waldhäusl will manage most of the organizational aspects, while Hofmeister will use her cooking skills in the café.
The opening of the new café is scheduled for January 17, 2026. Planned operations will be from Wednesday to Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Sundays ending at 4 p.m. There will also be free WiFi to enable guests to stay longer.
Hospitality industry on the rise
In the background of the newly opened “Håvn” is a remarkable development in gastronomy in Germany. This is not only an important economic factor, but has also recovered enormously since the pandemic years. In 2022, for example, sales of around 100 billion euros were achieved, which represents a clear increase compared to the previous year. In 2023, a new record is expected with sales of over 115 billion euros in the entire hospitality industry.
Part of this development is the areas of food-focused gastronomy, which continue to be in high demand despite the falling number of trainees in the catering industry. Cafés, like the upcoming “Håvn”, are very popular and contribute to the diversity and attractiveness of the dining scene.
The news about the successor to the wine bar “Faerber” not only caused a stir among the people of Rosenheim, but also showed how important it is to develop innovative concepts in order to be successful in the catering industry. The combination of home-made, high-quality food and a comfortable place to stay in particular promises to attract many guests and make the café a popular meeting place in Rosenheim.
We can't wait to see what the two entrepreneurs from Rosenheim will come up with and look forward to the opening of the new café “Håvn”!
