ÖDP Rosenheim: 70 candidates nominated for the district council!

In Rosenheim, the Ecological Democratic Party (ÖDP) is in the starting blocks for the 2026 local elections and has turned up the heat with a joint district council list of 70 candidates. How Innsalzach24 reported, the list was drawn up at the beginning of December, with Josef Fortner from Rohrdorf entering the race as the district administrator candidate. Fortner brings with him over 20 years of experience from environmental associations and wants to campaign for sustainable transport policy and renewable energies.

He is not the only promising candidate: At his side are, among others, Ludwig Maier from Soyen, who focuses on social issues and the RoMed clinics, and Anna Maria Kirsch from Bad Aibling. The top seven places on the list were elected individually in a voting system, which underlines the passion and commitment of the candidates. These positions show the diversity of the candidates, which also include Markus Schäffner (Prutting, non-party), Walter Liehmann (Bad Endorf), Thomas Unger (Brannenburg, non-party) and Christine Mehlo-Plath (Bruckmühl).

Important topics for the future

In the election campaign, the ÖDP will not only focus on its own district council candidacy, but will also put current issues such as land use, water conservation, affordable housing and the energy transition on the agenda. This shows that the ÖDP not only propagates green politics, but also takes social responsibility and fights for a future worth living.

Preparations for the local elections on March 8, 2026 are already in full swing. How ödp-bayern.de further reported, the ÖDP has made noticeable gains in the last elections, so that it now has over 400 elected representatives in Bavarian district, city and local councils. In comparison, the party has more local mandates than the FDP and the Left. This suggests that the ÖDP not only has a voice in many communities, but also influence.

Candidates for the municipality and city

In addition to the district council lists, the ÖDP has also drawn up city council lists in Wasserburg, Bad Aibling and Rosenheim. This shows that the party is active in various municipal committees and wants to represent local citizens. The effort is valuable because the ÖDP in Bavaria currently has six mayors and numerous deputies, such as ödp.de reported.

Josef Fortner and his colleagues are ready to make a strong statement in the Rosenheim district in the next election. It remains exciting to see how voters will accept the ÖDP's concepts and people. Because one thing is certain: there is a lot to do and the signs are favorable for a respectable candidacy!
