Starbulls Rosenheim: Away games in Weiden and Düsseldorf this weekend!
The Starbulls Rosenheim are facing an exciting weekend in the DEL2, which not only brings with it sporting challenges, but also the opportunity to take revenge for a narrow defeat. On Friday at 8 p.m. they will meet the Blue Devils Weiden in the Hans-Schröpf-Arena before continuing against Düsseldorfer EG on Sunday at 5 p.m. in the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf. The latter game will be even more interesting as the Starbulls will be wearing special jerseys designed in collaboration with the band “Die Toten Hosen”. This special campaign coincides with the 90th anniversary of DEG, which has just collected 22 points from 13 games and is in fourth place in the table.
The Starbulls' head coach, Jari Pasanen, is aware of Weiden's disciplined style of play. This was also evident in the Blue Devils' last game, in which they performed strongly after a narrow defeat against Düsseldorf (0:1) and recorded two solid home wins with 6:3. However, the Weiden team is currently struggling with injuries, including their top goalscorer Tyler Ward. Despite these challenges, the Starbulls have collected an impressive 14 points in the last six games and are currently playing really well with an average of 1.67 points per game.
Review of the first duel
A look back shows that the Starbulls unfortunately lost 5:4 in overtime against DEG in Düsseldorf at the start of the season. In this exciting game, Emil Quaas scored the decisive goal in extra time. The encounter was characterized by numerous leadership changes and ensured an exciting hockey experience in front of 4,425 spectators. Despite a strong offensive performance, the Rosenheim team struggled to capitalize on their chances.
It will now be important for the Rosenheimers to learn the lessons from this first encounter and get off to the best possible start in the two away games. Teemu Pulkinnen will miss out injured, while Charlie Sarault returns in time. Sebastian Zwickl, on the other hand, will not be able to support the team this week as he plays for Augsburg in the DEL.
The outlook for the weekend
After the game in Weiden, the team will stay on site and travel on to Düsseldorf on Saturday. Even though the league is paused the following weekend because of the Germany Cup, the Starbulls have great ambitions to make the next two games successful. The focus is already on the next home game against the Bietigheim Steelers on November 14th, for which the team wants to prepare intensively.
The Starbulls' games are broadcast live on sporteurope.tv, so fans don't have to miss anything even from home. It can't hurt to keep our fingers crossed for the upcoming game - it will be exciting!
