Wild chase in Kolbermoor: scooter driver escapes the police!
A strange incident occurred on June 25, 2025 in Kolbermoor and Rosenheim when a scooter driver escaped the police by daring. According to statements from the Rosenheim traffic police, the driver was observed on public roads around 9 p.m. without a license plate and should be stopped. This was the start of a chase that ran through the streets of Kolbermoor and finally ended in Rosenheim.
The pursuit began on Ludwigstrasse and continued along Wiesenstrasse and Glückstrasse until the driver fled on Von-Bippen-Strasse in the direction of Rosenheim. He crossed a pedestrian bridge on the Mangfall dam, which posed a challenge to the police. Ultimately, the officers had to break off the pursuit because they lost track of the unknown man. It is assumed that the driver continued his journey along the Outer Münchener Straße in Rosenheim and drove back towards Kolbermoor. The police estimate the fugitive scooter driver to be around 16 to 20 years old, between 1.70 and 1.80 meters tall, and describe him as being of Western European origin. He wore black clothing and a white helmet. His vehicle, an older, matt black model with technical changes, also stands out.
Call for witnesses and background information
The police are asking the public for information about this incident. Relevant information can be provided directly to the Rosenheim traffic police station on 08035/9068-0. With youth crime on the rise in Germany, which reached a peak of around 13,800 cases in 2024, according to a Statista report, it is not uncommon for young drivers to resist the police. Figures show that almost three quarters of young suspects are male, indicating certain behavioral patterns within this age group. Experts cite factors such as hormonal circumstances and traditional role models as possible reasons for this development.
In view of such incidents, the discussion about preventive measures is particularly important. One could consider tougher sanctions in juvenile criminal law or creative approaches to child and youth welfare in order to prevent crime. This could prevent young people from slipping into criminal structures.
It remains to be seen whether the scooter driver will be identified soon and what consequences his actions will entail. The police are hoping for support from the public to solve this case and prevent further incidents.
