Dietmannsried Community Foundation celebrates 10 years of social cohesion!

A fantastic anniversary was recently celebrated in Dietmannsried: the community foundation is celebrating its tenth anniversary! In bright late summer weather at 800 meters above sea level on the Wilhelmshöhe, guests gathered at the Schützenheim in Probstried to honor the commitment to the community. What could be nicer than celebrating together with beer tables and delicious food? The breathtaking view over the Illertal to the impressive Alpine chain created an all-round successful ambience. First Mayor Werner Endres, who also serves as chairman of the foundation's board, did not miss the opportunity to talk about the foundation's beginnings and successes. The community foundation was founded in 2015 and a lot has happened since then.

Insights into the history of the foundation

The foundation's origins lie in the assets of the Roth siblings, who acquired an agricultural property in Seegader in 1900. After her death in 1996, the assets went to the market town of Dietmannsried. Part of it was sold as building land, which ultimately enabled the construction of the Zwilling Roth Senior Center. The foundation can now look back on an impressive balance sheet: over 125,000 euros have been invested in various projects that strengthen community life.

  • Senioremittagstisch mit über 5.200 Teilnehmenden bei 20 Terminen
  • Schaffung von Leseecken in den Ortsteilen
  • Zuschüsse für den Generationen- und Calisthenics-Park
  • Ferienprogramm und Carsharing-Angebot
  • Unterstützung für das Dorfgemeinschaftshaus Probstried

Particularly noteworthy is the foundation's commitment to affordable housing. Nine barrier-free apartments on Konebergstrasse and eleven residential units in assisted senior living on Kirchplatz were created. What is also important is the fact that the foundation's assets have now grown to three million euros through donations. This is clear evidence of the long term vision and trust that citizens place in their foundation!

Senior lunch: A popular event

In addition to the anniversary, the seniors' lunch was also very well received. Werner Endres expressed his gratitude and highlighted the good response. The participants particularly appreciated the opportunity to chat while eating together. Supported by Arnold Reisen, a free transport service was set up that brought many visitors to Probstred. The delicious lunch was prepared by the festival hall host Dominik Hefele and his team.

A particular highlight was the afternoon entertainment by Waltraud Maier, who appeared as “Zenta Meichelbeck” and reminded many of previous performances. Accompanied by Third Mayor Evi Breher and senior citizen Alfred Karasek, those present experienced a thoroughly successful afternoon. By the way, the next senior lunch is planned for Carnival 2025.
