New swimming courses in Roth: Children learn to glide safely in the water!

The TSG 08 Roth brings a breath of fresh air to the range of swimming courses and is expanding its program for children aged five and over. New courses will be available from January 2026 and there are currently still places available. All little water lovers are invited – regardless of whether they have no experience in water or are already familiar with the element.

A specially tailored course is offered for children without water experience. Here there is a gentle introduction to the water to help the little ones move, glide, dive and stay on the surface safely. An initial basis of trust in the water is built up in a playful way, which makes getting started much easier. Children with previous water experience can look forward to targeted training. This course focuses on learning and deepening the basic skills of breaststroke swimming. The children should not be afraid of water and should be able to jump off the edge of the pool and submerge their heads under water. The aim of this unit is to train self-rescue; There is also the possibility of buying seahorses.

Diverse course options

An additional water familiarization course is aimed at children aged four and over. The aim of this course is a playful approach to the water, which helps to reduce fears and makes it easier to get started with regular swimming courses. Unfortunately there are currently no new dates available for this course.

For slightly older children aged five to eight, swimming courses lasting 10 lessons of 45 minutes each are available. The next course starts on February 4, 2026 and costs 180 euros. These costs include admission, a sticker booklet and the seahorse badge with a certificate after passing. Those interested currently have the opportunity to join a waiting list.

Pay attention to safety!

It is important that children come into contact with water at an early age. However, the use of swimming aids should always be carried out under supervision to avoid danger. The DLRG recommends using playful forms of getting used to water, such as when babies swim or in the bathtub. Swimming aids should be used carefully, as inadequate aids such as swimming rings can inhibit getting used to the water. Many children feel unsafe when they cannot independently control their movements in the water.
