Poetry Slam premiere in Eggenfelden: emotions, humor and young talents!
Yesterday there was a very special event at the Karl-von-Closen-Gymnasium in Eggenfelden: the school's first poetry slam not only conquered the stage, but also the hearts of the listeners. Moderated by Marlene Bachinger and the head of Poetry Slam AG, Katharina Weindler, the event was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Numerous talented young poets performed under the attentive eyes of a camera team that filmed the performance of Munich poetry slammer Svea Paul.
The performance by Luisa Schmelcher was particularly impressive, taking first place with her profound text “Gray Clouds” about an invisible illness. But the second and third places are also impressive: Theo Bachinger impressed with humorous and thoughtful lyrics and landed in second place, while Katharina Rapp won the jury on her side with her strong performance and took third place. New to the stage were Leonie Zobl and Anna Hölzlwimmer, who mastered their first stage appearance, while Deniz Aybek, the oldest participant at 18, caused a few laughs with his humorous text about the teaching profession.
The jury and the prizes
The jury consisted of the audience, the school principal Patrizia Wolf and Pia Rademacher from the Rupprecht bookstore. As a reward for the creative achievements, there were attractive prizes: vouchers sponsored by Refis Coffeehouse, Il Gelato and the Rupprecht bookstore. This commitment to the poetry slam is not only a benefit for the students, but also a step in the right direction to promote cultural life at the school.
The event was described by those involved as “unforgettable,” and topics ranged from light-hearted anecdotes to profound reflections. The audience was not only encouraged to laugh, but also to think. This shows how lively the literary movement of the poetry slam is, which is characterized by the passionate performances of slam poets. Here, enthusiasm for language play, rhythm and ambiguity is conveyed, which is further strengthened through various workshops that are offered, for example, for schools, universities and cultural institutions. Poetry Slam Workshops offer the opportunity to experience the idea of the poetry slam in direct exchange.
A look into the future
The announcement of a continuation of the poetry slam at the school makes it clear that a new chapter has begun for the literary culture and creativity of the students. With such initiatives, the Karl-von-Closen-Gymnasium helps to promote the linguistic and creative potential of its students and to offer them a platform. Those interested can find further information about the projects at the school on the website CoPlan.
A successful start that leaves everyone involved wanting more and strengthens the sense of community at the school. We can't wait to see where the path of the poetry slam in Eggenfelden will lead!
