Simbach excursion: On the trail of film and football in Munich!
50 children and adults from Simbach recently experienced an exciting trip to Munich as they set off for the Bavarian capital as part of the city's holiday program. This excursion was organized by the youth office of the city of Simbach together with the ASCK Simbach, and the participants had a packed program that combined both exciting entertainment and sporting interest. That's how it went at first Bavaria Film City in Grünwald.
There the participants were divided into two groups to enjoy an exciting program. A highlight was the visit to the 4D cinema, followed by the exploration of various film sets, which provided an insight behind the scenes of well-known productions. Scenes from “The Canoe of Manitu”, “Asterix and Obelix” and “The Boat” were just some of the treasures that the children admired. They were particularly impressed by the interior of a submarine and were even allowed to sit on the lucky dragon “Fuchur” from “The Neverending Story”.
Film fun for the little ones
A very special experience offered the opportunity to slip into the roles of actors. Three children transformed themselves into the actors of “Rosenheim Cops”, while others reenacted scenes on the set of “Fack ju Göhte”. As a special souvenir, each participant received a film with the scenes they had played themselves. After this colorful morning, the group set off towards their second destination: the impressive Allianz Arena in Fröttmaning.
The Allianz Arena, which opened in 2005 and was designed by the architects Herzog & de Meuron, is one of the most important football stadiums in the world. With a capacity of up to 75,000 spectators, it not only offers a place for sports fans, but also a visual highlight for those interested in architecture with its almost 3,000 glowing air cushions. These shine in the club colors red and white at home games FC Bayern Munich and illuminate in different colors on special occasions.
A look behind the scenes
On site, the guides explored the arena with the participants, showing them the press room, the changing rooms and the players' tunnel. While the pitch was unfortunately not allowed to be walked on, the children were able to sit in the substitutes' seats and feel like real professionals. The end of the day took place in the Arenastüberl, and of course a visit to the fan shop was also a must. At this point, a big thank you to the accompanying people and everyone involved, especially Gerti Stinglhammer from the youth office and Stefan Lehner from ASCK Simbach.
In summary, this excursion was not only a highlight for the children and adults, but also a great opportunity to experience Munich's culture and sports history up close. Who knows, maybe one or the other will soon be on the field themselves after registering for one of the popular football camps like the Munich Kickers has decided. There the young talents can further develop their football skills and learn team spirit and discipline. It remains to be seen whether the first eleven will be on the field next time!
