Anniversary of the Riflemen's Guild: Exciting community shooting thrills 100 participants!

The Kleeblatt Frotzersricht shooting guild recently celebrated this year's festival with an exciting community shooting event, which was particularly in focus as the culmination of an anniversary. Honorary shooting champion Rudi Prebeck welcomed numerous guests, including patron Gabi Wittleben, who gave the event a special touch. In his opening speech, Prebeck thanked everyone involved for their disciplined and accident-free behavior at the shooting ranges. A special thank you went to range supervisor Werner Irlbeck, who did an outstanding job looking after the shooters.

A total of 100 shooters from different groups took part in the community shooting event, who not only wanted to compete in sports, but also enjoyed the social get-together. What was interesting was that the best divider on the citizen's target was achieved with just one shot, which was quite a challenge for some of the participants.

Shooting clubs through the ages

The tradition of shooting clubs has a remarkable history in Germany. As the website Wikipedia explains, the modern forms of these communities emerged in the early 19th century, after the Napoleonic Wars. The roots of shooting clubs lie in medieval cities, where they often fulfilled a political function. Original shooting guilds, such as the Karlsschützenguild in Aachen, have survived through time to the present day.

Nowadays, shooting clubs specialize primarily in shooting sports. They are organized into various associations, with the German Rifle Association being the largest, with over 13,000 member clubs. The shooting clubs not only offer a platform for sporting activities, but are also a place of community and customs. These clubs are structured hierarchically, which ensures that the competitions are carried out in a professional and organized manner.

The meaning of the citizen shooting

Citizen shooting has a long tradition in many regions. Such events not only promote local cohesion, but also stimulate interest in shooting sports. In this sense, the Kleeblatt Frotzersricht team can be seen as pioneers who, with their commitment and positive atmosphere at the recent festival, are building on the deep-rooted tradition and carrying it into the future.
