The Cuarteto Latinoamericano has been a fixture in the world of classical music for over thirty years. Founded in Mexico in 1982, it is dedicated to promoting Latin American music for string quartet. The members, including Raúl Teo Arias (1st violin), Benjamin Gatuzz (2nd violin), Paulina Riquelme (viola) and Guilherme Nardelli Monegatto (cello), impress with a program that includes styles from baroque to classical to romantic and modern music. The ensemble has not only premiered more than a hundred works, but has also won several Latin Grammys, including the coveted awards in 2012 and 2016 in the Best Classical Recordings category.

Tickets are available via the website reservix.de and adtickets.de as well as at the educational locations of the Rhön-Grabfeld Adult Education Center and the Münnerstadt Tourist Information Center.
The string quartet, as the most important genre of chamber music, has its origins in the 18th century. It consists of two violins, a viola and a cello and is characterized by the equality of voices without a continuo instrument. The beginnings extend to well-known composers such as Joseph Haydn and Luigi Boccherini, whose works also shape the repertoire of the Cuarteto Latinoamericano. This tradition continues to this day and is constantly supplemented with new, both well-known and unknown, composers. The Cuarteto sets itself high standards when it comes to performing works that reflect the diversity of Latin American music.
