Storm warning in Bavaria: There is a risk of strong gusts of up to 90 km/h!
The weather always causes excitement, and this is the case today on October 29, 2025. The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued a warning of storms and gusts of wind for Wednesday and Thursday, especially in southern Bavaria. Things get serious in mountainous regions: above 1500 meters, gusts of wind can be expected with speeds of up to 80 km/h, and in exposed locations even up to 90 km/h. For many, the question now is: “What do you need to get through this storm safely?”
In the valleys you can expect wind gusts of up to 60 km/h. The warning for the south is in effect from 2 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday morning. The districts affected include Swabia, Oberallgäu, Ostallgäu, Upper Bavaria and many others, including Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Berchtesgadener Land and Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Warnings also in the north and east
But that's not all. While the southern regions are being warned about the storm, the DWD is also expecting windy conditions for the north and east, but only from Thursday morning until around 6 p.m. The districts affected here include Freyung-Grafenau, Deggendorf, Regen and Straubing. So it's a good time for everyone to prepare and pay attention to the weather conditions.
The public is asked to secure free-standing objects, secure tents and covers and watch out for falling objects when outdoors. This minimizes the risk of flying objects and falling branches, which is particularly important in these stormy times.
Current weather conditions
According to the BR There are no further severe weather warnings at this time. The DWD regularly publishes current warnings; if you are interested, you can find the latest information on their website. Not to be forgotten are the different warning levels, which range from level 1 for general weather warnings to level 4 for extreme storms.
If you look at the numbers, you can see that the weather conditions continue to present challenges. Even a seemingly “simple” wind has its own facets, such as the number 1, which plays a central role in many contexts. This number, considered the first natural number, is not only important in mathematics, but is also used in many other areas to denote the first or highest. The reference to the number 1 shows how we often overlook fundamentals and the importance they have, even if we often don't think about them.
So stay healthy, safe and well informed, and enjoy the dynamic weather conditions, because after all, every storm comes with its own stories.
