Advent magic in Salzburg: Discover the Festival Hall!

There is a very special event on the program in the beautiful pre-Christmas period: the study trip to the Salzburg Advent Singing, organized by the vhs Tirschenreuth. On December 13th and 14th, on the third Advent, those interested have the opportunity to go on a contemplative journey to Salzburg's old town. Although places for this trip are limited, there are still a few remaining places available and waiting for quick registrations.

The comprehensive trip program includes a guided walk through the old town with qualified Salzburg tour guides, which immerses participants in the magical atmosphere of the city. A visit to the popular Christmas market is also on the agenda, where there are all sorts of delicacies and beautiful crafts to discover. The crowning conclusion is a visit to the Salzburg Advent Singing in the Great Festival Hall, where the work “The Blind Shepherd” is performed. The travel costs amount to 330 euros, which includes the bus trip, an overnight stay in a double room including half board in the three-star Hotel Schaider in Ainring and a category two entry ticket. If you prefer to stay alone, you can book a single room for a surcharge of 35 euros.

The Salzburg Advent singing

The Salzburg Advent Singing fascinates around 36,000 visitors every year. This display combines scenic and musical performances relating to the story of Mary and Joseph. Last season the performance was staged as a touching love story in the vineyard, while this year a new concept dominates the stage. Accompanied by Advent tunes and sounds by Shane Woodborne, the focus is on the Salzburg shepherd children and a “blind” shepherd. This blind shepherd has the ability to see and sense more than his youthful companions, a wonderful metaphor for insight and wisdom.

Hans Köhl warmly invites visitors to get excited about this extraordinary event in the Great Festival Hall. The magic of Advent and the musical sounds make the Salzburg Advent singing an unforgettable experience.
