Your babies in the spotlight: Photos from Northern Upper Palatinate wanted!
In the North Upper Palatinate region it is time again to celebrate the little miracles! On August 10, 2025, new parents will have the opportunity to enter their newborn darlings in the Oberpfalz Echo's baby gallery. However, the parents have to take care of the submission themselves, as the Weiden registry office no longer automatically forwards the births to the editorial team. It will be an email to babies@oberpfalzecho.de or a WhatsApp message to introduce their offspring. Necessary information includes the baby's full name, parents' names, date of birth and place of residence. A photo of the little citizen is also welcome.
Fortunately, there are also some exciting gifts for the new parents. The Kliniken Nordoberpfalz AG offer a free photo shoot at the Weiden Clinic. This not only includes a welcome video with the newborn's first picture, which is sent to the smartphone within 24 hours, but also the opportunity to secure the family a free first photo for the greeting card. At the same time, parents can have their favorite picture published in the clinic's baby gallery, provided they give their consent.
Special highlights of the births
Particularly good news is the birth ofMerle, which was born on January 1, 2025 at 2:56 a.m. in the Weiden Clinic. Merle weighs a good 3020 grams and is the first New Year's baby of the year. Her parents, Sonja (31) and Daniel Albersdorfer (38) from Kirchenthumbach, were warmly welcomed by midwife Julia Witt and senior physician Dr. Rayna Simeonova congratulates. What is impressive is that Merle is the only New Year's baby at the Weiden Clinic, while the day before was the New Year's Eve babyLenawas born.
In 2024, 1,524 children were born at the Weiden Clinic - an increase compared to the previous year, when only 1,476 babies were born. The distribution in 2024 was balanced with 785 boys and 739 girls, but the number of twin births fell to around 20, compared to the 40 twin births in 2023.
The North Upper Palatinate Clinics are doing everything they can to support new parents during this exciting time. With a free photo shoot and access to an online photo album where parents can select their pictures, no wish remains unfulfilled. Of course, the choice of pictures is flexible and parents are not obliged to buy a picture. If you are interested in an appointment, you can contact Beatrice Dahten on the telephone number 0176 191 255 31 report.
The family is a valuable asset, and in Northern Upper Palatinate this becomes clear once again. A call for photos, exciting gifts and solid support make the region a place where the birth of a child is always celebrated with joy and enthusiasm!
