Jazz delight in Traunstein: Atmospheric concerts in autumn!
Musically things are going well again in Traunstein! The Cultural Forum Monastery Church starts the autumn-winter season with its popular event series “Live Jazz Traunstein”. From September 18th, the monastery church will be the venue for five exciting concerts that will give jazz lovers their money's worth. So if you're wondering what's happening in Traunstein's cultural scene, you have the answer: it's going to be jazzy!
This is the startNils Kugelmann Trio. From 8 p.m. Nils Kugelmann (bass), Luca Zambito (piano) and Sebastian Wolfgruber (drums) will be at the start and will present an exciting mix of jazz, classical and film music. With Kugelmann, who is known for his album “Life Score”, visitors can expect a real feast for the ears.
A line-up in a class of its own
But that's just the beginning! On October 1st that setsSimon Popp Drum Trionew accents with its unique combination of electronic and acoustic sounds. The trio consists of Simon Popp on drums, Flurin Mück and Sebastian Wolfgruber. Popp, who became known through his work with the jazz quintet Fazer, brings a breath of fresh air to the stage with his albums “Laya”, “Devi” and “Blizz”.
Another highlight isSeverin Rauch's Leg Transporter, which occurs on October 24th. Here guests can look forward to an exciting fusion of Afrobeat, jazz and indie. With Severin Rauch on drums and a line-up that includes trumpet and guitar, this concert is guaranteed to be unforgettable.
This is convincing on October 30thLeo Betzl Triowith an innovative mix of modern jazz and minimalist techno sounds that does not require any electronic aids. The crowning conclusion of this musical delight is the concert bySoul herbon December 11th, which combines soul, jazz and funk and takes listeners on a journey through “Rare Grooves”.
Jazzy Mondays in the Kulturforum
For those who don't want to wait for the big concerts, there are monthly onesJazzy Mondays. The duo Koutifaris/Schmid and various guest musicians perform here. The next dates are September 22nd, October 13th, November 17th and December 15th, starting at 6 p.m. A perfect after-work terminator for all jazz lovers!
Tickets are already available via the website Cultural Forum Traunstein, the Traunsteiner Tagblatt and the tourist information. There is also an inexpensive subscription (Take 5), which also includes the four Jazzy Mondays until the end of the year. A good deal that's worth it!

A look into the future? A new concert series called T-Stone Jazz awaits us in January, which is intended to delight jazz fans with exciting formations. The first appearance of the new series is on January 6th with soul singer Zelda Weber and her band, the Rosettes. The Cultural Forum will therefore remain in tune with the times in 2024.
