Residents are urged to stay away from trees as there is a risk of lightning strikes.

But the capricious weather cannot only be observed in Bavaria. The whole of Germany is in severe weather mode as a cold front rolls in from the west. Causes of the heat wave

The current heat wave in Germany is closely related to the flow of warm air from North Africa and southwestern Europe. This is also causing record temperatures in other countries, for example in Spain with peaks of up to 47 degrees and in France with over 40 degrees. This extreme weather situation is exacerbated by high pressure areas that block the westerly wind drift, which has led to a particularly dry period since spring that favors heat waves.
