More than 100 enthusiasts gathered to celebrate together and enjoy delicious food. This magical number was achieved thanks to many pre-registrations and a high number of visitors, which visibly pleased those responsible. The atmosphere was great, supported by “the best beer garden weather”. Cheerful chatter and hearty laughter could be heard from the benches. Renate Oswald, chairwoman of the women's association, Peter Schröpf, local chairman of the CSU Weiden Süd, and Hermann Stadler, KAB chairman, organized everything excellently. Those responsible also demonstrated a “good hand” when it came to recruiting grill masters and helpers, who undoubtedly contributed to the successful atmosphere.

Tradition meets community

This tradition, which has been maintained for over 35 years, is very popular with local residents. Hermann Stadler noted that enthusiasm is increasing every year, and Peter Schröpf also took the opportunity to compare the barbecue evening with a second parish festival that has a similar appeal. These events not only offer delicious food, but also the opportunity to maintain old and new acquaintances.

The participants were a mixed audience, including CSU regulars and city councilors such as Dagmar Nachtigall and Hans-Jürgen Gmeiner.
