Drama in Dornhausen: Teenager seriously injured after a spectacular car accident!

On Friday evening, November 7th, 2025, there was a serious traffic accident on the B13 near Dornhausen in Bavaria that left residents in suspense. According to initial information, a 17-year-old driver lost control of his high-powered vehicle, which then rolled over several times and went on an impressive flight phase of 50 meters before coming to rest in a hedge and bursting into flames, like the one tz reported.

The 17-year-old and his 18-year-old passenger were in the car when the accident occurred, both of whom suffered serious injuries in the dramatic incident. Thank God the danger to the lives of the two young men is no longer present. Initially, however, access to the driver was extremely difficult for the fire department's emergency services; The rescue operation turned out to be lengthy and lasted between 30 and 40 minutes. The Dornhausen fire department, supported by surrounding fire departments, did a great job. Residents also rushed to help and used fire extinguishers to prevent anything worse from happening.

A heavy aftertaste

What is particularly alarming is that the driver did not have a valid driver's license, which makes the situation even more precarious. As if that wasn't enough, a torn wheel from the vehicle even flew into the living room of a resident who luckily wasn't at home. Such incidents raise questions about safety on our roads.

In the latest traffic accident statistics from Bavaria, the numbers of cyclists who are totally in debt are obviously going in the wrong direction recently. While in 2024, the number of cyclists killed rose to 94, reported the Bavarian Interior Minister Hermann of a decline in overall traffic fatalities to 495. This is four fewer than the previous year, which is at least a positive aspect. After all, Bavaria had a sustainability rate of around 2 percent in 2024 with a total of 381,063 traffic accidents.

Cycling remains problematic

The number of injured people in 2024 was 62,191, which shows a slightly positive trend compared to the previous year. What is noteworthy, however, is that the number of seriously injured people has reached an all-time low of 9,024. Cycling remains particularly problematic; 42 of the 94 cyclists killed were riding a Pedelec. The authorities have also reported an increase in accidents under the influence of drugs in recent years, which is particularly reflected in the legalization of cannabis.

In order to improve the safety of children and older people in road traffic in particular, a number of key measures are planned for 2025. This includes increased speed controls and an increased focus on driving ability when drinking alcohol or drugs. Around 1,500 kilometers of new cycle paths are to be created in the Bavarian cycling infrastructure by 2030 in order to increase safety for cyclists and further reduce the number of accidents.

If this tragic event shows one thing, it is that we all need vigilance to avoid such terrible accidents in the future. After all, the fun on the road doesn't just end with driving, it also begins with the responsibility we have for ourselves and others.
