Burglary in Treuchtlingen: Office on Gstadter Straße broken into!
On the night of July 16th to 17th, 2025, there was a break-in at an office building in Treuchtlingen, in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district. Unknown perpetrators forced their way into the administrative area and left chaos behind. Several office doors were opened and a safe was broken into, which not only caused considerable damage to property, but also cash was stolen. The total damage is estimated to be in the mid five-figure range Bavaria Police reported.
The crime occurred between 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening and 6:00 a.m. on Thursday morning. Extensive forensic measures were carried out at the crime scene and the Property Crimes Inspectorate took over the investigation. Witnesses who may have information about the incident are asked to contact the Central Franconia Criminal Investigation Service on 0911 2112-3333.
Burglary numbers are increasing nationwide
A worrying trend is particularly evident in large cities, where the number of burglaries is often higher than in rural areas. North Rhine-Westphalia, for example, recorded a 15 percent increase in residential burglaries, showing that security precautions are of great importance in these areas. The police are increasingly recommending preventive measures, which also include free safety advice.
Burglary in a single-family home
It wasn't just the office building that was targeted by criminals. A single-family home in Treuchtlingen also fell victim to a break-in on March 28, 2024. Here an unknown perpetrator ransacked several rooms and stole several hundred euros in cash. The perpetrator was described as around 50 to 60 years old, around 1.80 meters tall and with a noticeably thin build. At the time of the break-in he was wearing black sweatpants, a black hoodie and black flip flops with white socks. The Ansbach criminal police has also started investigating this case and is asking witnesses for information.
Given these incidents, it is clear that break-ins, whether commercial or private, are a serious problem. The understanding that mechanical security precautions and preventative measures make a decisive contribution to burglary prevention should be highly valued by all those affected.
