The Bremen Freimarkt is in full swing and today, October 25th, 2025, the Weser courier for shining eyes. The free market parade, the highlight of this fifth season, begins at 10 a.m. in Pappelstrasse in Bremer Neustadt. Tradition and fun for everyone

The Bremen Freimarkt is one of the oldest folk festivals in Germany, looking back on more than a thousand years of history. As early as 888, King Arnulf gave Bremen the right to hold markets. The musical accompaniment is provided by 15 groups who ensure the necessary atmosphere.

Changes in local transport

In order for all spectators to be able to get to the festival comfortably, local transport must be able to accommodate the crowds. The bus and tram routes will begin to be rerouted from around 7 a.m. Lines 26 and 27 are particularly affected, followed by lines 1, 2, 3, 8 and 25 from 9 a.m. From 9.45 a.m. lines 4, 6 and 24 will also be rerouted. Line 5 will be completely canceled on the day of the event, while line 63 will be rerouted from around 1:15 p.m. Spontaneous diversions and delays are to be expected.
