Fürth celebrates a strong 3-1 win in the group league against Griesheim!
An exciting day for football fans in Fürth: FC Fürth won an impressive 3-1 against Viktoria Griesheim on September 7, 2025, winning their second home game in a row. Coach Ralf Ripperger and sports director Marco Knapp can be very satisfied with their team's performance, even if the initial phase of the game was anything but easy. As the Bürstädter Zeitung reported that FC Fürth found it difficult to get into the game in the first 30 minutes and was faced with several good chances from Griesheim, which, however, remained unused.
In the second half, FC Fürth finally got going. Adamek impressively demonstrated his skills and scored two goals in the 35th and 53rd minutes, while Gebhardt confidently converted a penalty kick in the 61st minute to make it 3-0. The pressure on the Fürth team increased in the last 20 minutes of the game when Lorenz reduced the deficit for Griesheim in the 81st minute. But new signing Tom Dahlke showed with outstanding saves that he is a real ace in goal. However, with a unified team performance, the team successfully managed to win over time, as you can see from the barbs! A total of 150 spectators came to watch the exciting match.
Strengthening club football
But FC Fürth's successes do not fall into a vacuum. They are part of a larger movement to strengthen amateur football in Germany. The Master plan 2024 is a package of measures aimed at improving club quality and maintaining a strong network of football clubs. As part of this plan, which runs until December 2025, sub-goals such as recruiting and retaining players, coaches and referees as well as improving the infrastructure for clubs are aimed for.
Under the motto “With the ball to happiness”, the amateur football steering group led by Peter Frymuth followed the recommendations of the 3rd DFB Amateur Football Congress 2019 in order to optimize support in the areas of organization, game offerings and employee development. The club representatives should be involved through regular workshops in order to continuously work on the further development of the amateur clubs.
FC Fürth's successes in the group league are not only a reason for the fans to be happy, but also proof that the efforts in amateur football are bearing fruit. Who knows, maybe the club will be on bigger stages in German football in the near future. After all, staying in the league is only the first step on the way to success!
