Even though autumn is approaching, there is important news for garden owners: since October 1st, hedges, bushes and trees in the area have been allowed to be cut again. This is regulated by the Federal Nature Conservation Act, which allows pruning until the end of February. But be careful: there is a strict closed season from March to September. During these months, radical pruning or removal of trees is prohibited to protect breeding birds and migrating bats. This regulation is anchored in Section 39 Paragraph 5 of the Federal Nature Conservation Act. Woody plants are a habitat for many animal species and their protection is therefore of utmost importance.
