CSD Frankfurt 2025: Political, colorful and full of passion!

Christopher Street Day (CSD) in Frankfurt is just around the corner and promises not only colorful parades, but also a clear political focus. From July 17th to 20th, downtown Frankfurt will be the setting for a diverse program that fights for the rights of the queer community. Sebastian Reggentin, press spokesman for the CSD Frankfurt, emphasizes the urgency of defending the achieved rights of the LGBTQI* community, because “it is very important to us that our voices are heard” [FAZ](https://www.faz.net/aktuell/rhein-main/frankfurt/frankfurt-so-will-der-csd-am-neuen-standort-politiker- Werden-110585014.html).

This year's motto "Never be quiet again - Frankfurt is #loud" is intended to send a powerful message. The official opening will take place with speeches by Frankfurt Mayor Nargess Eskandari-Grünberg and Mayor Mike Josef. “We want to bring the community together and make the rights we fight for visible,” Reggentin continues.

A new location and more space

The street festival is moving to the banks of the Main, where the organizers expect more space and shade for the expected 150,000 visitors. At the last event two years ago, around 13,000 people took to the streets in the city center for the rights of the queer community, which shows that there is great interest. The parade will start on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with a rally on the Römerberg, followed by a procession with around 70 cars that will provide visible support [Hessenschau](https://www.hessenschau.de/gesellschaft/13000-menschen- Feiern-csd-in-frankfurt—kundigung-und-parade-in-der-innenstadt-v6,csd-frankfurt-184.html).

Reggentin hopes for a large participation from different generations and political directions. The old location at Konstablerwache was overcrowded, and the new location will allow for better collaboration with other festivals, such as Mainfest. A well-thought-out security concept ensures that the celebrations can take place safely without additional costs for the participants.

Culture and family area

An additional highlight is the newly designed family area, which is aimed not only at queer families but also at traditional ones. Here the little ones can look forward to a toy mobile and a historic Ferris wheel, while the older generations can be entertained by political discussions and music. This new way of celebrating is intended to help involve younger people in what is happening and to create an open climate for everyone Deutschlandfunk Kultur.

In view of the current geopolitical challenges and the increase in anti-queer crimes in Germany, the CSD is an important platform for the visibility and strengthening of the rights of the LGBTQI* community. In times when social achievements are constantly being questioned, Reggentin calls on participants not only to come to the parade, but also to send a strong signal for equality.

Celebrate, demonstrate and show solidarity

The Frankfurt CSD is not only a celebration, but also an important symbol in the fight for equality and acceptance. “The history of the LGBTQI* movement is a story of struggles and victories,” said Reggentin. “Each of us can participate and be a part of this story.”

Interested visitors can find further details about the route of the demonstration, the all-round exciting program and a digital program booklet on the website www.csd-frankfurt.de. The CSD should be a place for everyone – be it to celebrate, to demonstrate or simply to exchange ideas. Be there!
