Art and sport combined: Huskies start theater cooperation!

The Kassel Huskies, the ice hockey second division team, are currently causing excitement not only on the ice, but also off the playing surface: with an exciting new collaboration with the Kassel State Theater, they are embarking on a creative journey that combines art and sport. As the Huskies kassel-huskies.de report, planned activities are all about the exchange between these two worlds. Fans can look forward to joint workshops, events and theater visits that will enrich not only the sporting but also the cultural landscape of Kassel.

On the occasion of the “Open Day at INTERIM” on November 1st, viewers have the opportunity to get to know the background of the cooperation. The director of the State Theater, Florian Lutz, and Huskies managing director Derek Dinger will talk about their visions and the synergies between stage and ice surface. Exclusive benefits for the loyal fans of both institutions will be presented, such as a 15% discount on theater tickets for Huskies season ticket holders and vice versa.

Culture meets sport – an innovative approach

The ambitious goal of the collaboration is to create an open ecosystem for urban society and to become an access point for art and sport. The opportunity to win free tickets to Huskies games and theater performances has the potential to attract many new interested parties. This initiative could be the beginning of a fruitful relationship between art and sport, taking both areas to a new level.

But as the Huskies soar to new creative heights, it's also time for internal changes. The new generation of management, including Derek Dinger, who now acts as managing director alongside Paul Sinizin, has made it their mission to lead the club back into the first German ice hockey league (DEL). The loss in the DEL2 playoffs two and a half months ago showed a clear need for action, which Sinizin also emphasizes. “It is in the nature of things that a next generation has to take over,” he says, describing the need for new ideas.

Sporting challenges and new perspectives

In the coming weeks, the Kassel Huskies will face the challenge of preparing for the new DEL2 season, which starts in mid-September. Six preparatory games are planned in which the team's quality is to be demonstrated. The first games will be played against teams like HC TIWAG Innsbruck and the Steinbach Black Wings Linz before the season starts on September 16th against the Lausitzer Füchse. The Hessen derby against EC Bad Nauheim on October 4th will be a special highlight.

With these exciting developments in both the cultural and sporting areas, the Kassel Huskies show that they are pursuing a holistic concept. The meeting of theater and ice hockey could create a wow effect in Kassel and ensure that more people become enthusiastic about both disciplines. Art and sport – two poles that can achieve much more together!
