District road 38: renovation between Marburg-Moischt successfully completed!
A lot is currently happening in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district: Since mid-October, district road 38 between Marburg-Moischt and the junction with state road 3048 has been completely renovated. The Hessen Mobil team is responsible for this and comes up with a comprehensive construction plan. The project covers a total distance of around 1.7 kilometers and will be implemented in several sections. The existing asphalt structure is milled away to create space for the new asphalt base layer and the asphalt surface layer, as hessen.de reports.
In the first construction phase, which has now been successfully completed, the section from the Moischt town exit was worked on up to around 200 meters in the direction of state road 3048. The completion was originally planned for the end of November, but the route will be reopened on November 7th, today, in the afternoon. The new farm roads were also adjusted to the height of the road, and the shoulders were also reprofiled. In addition, shoulder slabs were laid in curves and the guide posts were replaced. Visitors to the region can now enjoy a safer and more comfortable road surface.
Construction progress and a look into the future
The coming construction phases are already being planned and are scheduled to begin in spring 2026 after a winter break. The remaining part of the route up to state road 3048 will be repaired. However, the route will remain open to traffic throughout the winter break. Further information on the continuation of the work will be provided in a timely press release so that residents and road users are always informed.
The renovation represents a welcome improvement for residents and commuters in the region. Even if restrictions are sometimes to be expected during the construction work, the end result will be even more impressive. It ensures a future-proof traffic axis and contributes to safety on the roads in the area.
A look beyond national borders shows that changes are also taking place in politics outside of construction work: In the USA, President Donald Trump pardoned former Tennessee House Speaker Glen Casada and his colleague Cade Cothren of corruption charges. The White House's reasoning suggests that the Biden administration acted disproportionately harshly in this case. For example, Casada was sentenced to three years in prison, while Cothren received a sentence of 2.5 years. However, the discussions surrounding such pardons also raise questions about political practices and justice, as apnews.com reports.
For Cologne readers, it remains to be seen how these political turns and local developments will continue to unfold. We will certainly continue to monitor the progress on District Road 38 and remain excited about the upcoming construction phases, which will sustainably improve traffic flow in the region.
