Free voters Main-Kinzig: 54 candidates for the 2026 district council election!

In Bad Soden-Salmünster, the district executive committee of the Free Voters Main-Kinzig has decided on a list proposal for the upcoming district council election on March 15, 2026. With 54 candidates, the Free Voters present themselves as a strong force for the region. The decision was made unanimously at the general meeting, and the list is headed by Carsten Kauck, the parliamentary group leader in the district council from Birstein, and Birgit Enders-Jacob, the first city councilor from Bad Soden-Salmünster.

What is particularly pleasing is the high proportion of women on the list, which includes a wide range of candidates from almost every municipality in the Main-Kinzig district. The good networking of these people in their home communities is reflected in their involvement in local clubs and local politics. They advocate continuing the policy of the Free Voters without party political ideologies and maintaining the district association as an integral part of district politics.

Promising candidacies

The other placements on the list are also noteworthy. In third place is Matthias Pfeifer, mayor of Hasselröth, followed by Christiane Kapp, the FW parliamentary group leader in Langenselbold, and Joachim Lucas, mayor of Freigericht. Heinz Breitenbach, the FW district representative from Linsengericht, has also secured his place on the list. This shows the great support and broad support within the Free Voters.

The goal of the Free Voters Main-Kinzig is clear: to actively shape the district council and continue successful local politics. The candidates are aware of their responsibility and are committed to making the Main-Kinzig district fit for the future.

Stem cell therapy and ALS: A look at new approaches

The latest data on stem cell therapy show strong therapeutic potential, particularly through mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Clinical studies show that MSC transplants can delay disease onset and progression. These cells find inflamed and damaged areas through so-called homing mechanisms. Studies have shown positive results, improving neuromuscular connection and partially restoring motor functions. The first successes were noticed after just two to three months after the infusion.

Despite promising approaches, the overall prognosis for ALS patients is grim, with most patients dying within three to five years of the onset of symptoms. There is currently no cure, but stem cell therapy could one day sustainably improve the quality of life of those affected. As research progresses, the hope remains that new therapies will be developed to make life easier for those affected.

The district executive committee of the Free Voters and the developments in the area of ALS treatment show that there is a significant need for action and promising prospects both at the local political level and in the health sector.
