Arolser Viehmarkt: Main prize Fiat Panda causes cheers among 350,000!

There was a colorful hustle and bustle at the stuff and livestock market in Bad Arolsen from August 7th to 10th, 2025. This year the festival was recognized with particularly positive feedback from the police, rescue workers and market management. The event attracted around 350,000 visitors and celebrated the 292nd edition of the largest folk festival in northern Hesse. The atmosphere was cheerful and the weather cooperated, so market visitors got their money's worth. There was something for every taste: from around 180 general stores to 50 entertainment and 50 catering establishments to an attractive trade show.

The market events were rounded off with a variety of attractions and a varied program. The Mengeringhausen Music Association's open-air concert on Thursday provided the perfect start, followed by an impressive parade. For animal lovers there was a district animal show on Friday, where cattle, sheep and many other animals were presented. Sunday was all about the traditional livestock market lottery, which featured a main prize: a Fiat Grande Panda Hybrid, ticket number 15347.

Security situation under control

The security situation was calm throughout the event, which was primarily due to good planning and cooperation between the emergency services. Police leader Stephan Fleschenberg reported an unspectacular course of events compared to the previous year. Support from police forces from Waldeck-Frankenberg and Kassel was deployed to ensure the safety of visitors. The German Red Cross was on site with around 40 emergency services who mainly had to treat minor injuries and circulatory problems. The Bad Arolsen volunteer fire department was also in constant use, with a personnel rescue operation taking place in impassable terrain.

All in all, the Arolser stuff and livestock market was a complete success, which not only shone through its traditional offerings and the cheerful atmosphere, but also through the professional security organization, which made it possible for everyone involved to have a relaxed festival. Preparations for next year will begin next week, and the anticipation for the 293rd edition is already great!
