Metzgerei Hahn impresses with 75 years of tradition and new special sausage!

On Saturday evening, the Hahn butcher shop in Frischborn, Lauterbach (Vogelsbergkreis) celebrated a big anniversary: 75 years of passion for the art of butchery. Over 250 guests came to honor this special milestone with the Hahn family. The company was founded in 1950 by Eduard Hahn, who laid the foundation for a long tradition with his craftsmanship and a great sense of customer needs. Today the butcher's shop is run in the third generation by Karsten and Britta Hahn, who uphold the character of the company even in modernized times.

Karsten Hahn spoke with pride about the butcher's success and the loyal regular customers who have remained loyal to the family business over the years. During his speech, Mayor Rainer-Hans Vollmöller acknowledged the importance of the butcher shop for the community and recalled the close connections that have existed since the beginning. The celebration offered a nostalgic look back, but also a glimpse of the company's future.

Tradition meets innovation

The Hahn butcher's shop focuses on quality and freshness, while maintaining the tradition of home slaughtering. On the occasion of the anniversary, a new special sausage was presented that does not contain any additives or E numbers. The list of ingredients, including coarsely processed pork, bacon, whole egg, salt, pepper and natural herbs such as lovage, shows that the focus is on natural and high-quality products. Lovage has historical significance in folk medicine as an aphrodisiac.

In addition to the new sausage, two culinary classics were offered in special anniversary glasses: potato sausage and rind stomach, artfully illustrated by Sabine Euler. These glasses, each containing 320 grams, are not only a treat for the palate, but also the perfect gift for gourmets. The special sausage was presented at the barbecue in Frischborn on April 12th and was very well received by customers.

A look at the past and future

The history of the butcher shop reflects the changes in the meat industry. From the earliest civilizations to Roman techniques and the challenges of industrialization, the industry has continually reinvented itself. Today it is consumers who increasingly value animal welfare, regionality and sustainable products. Recently, traditional craft butchers and delicatessen providers have again received a lot of popularity, which benefits the Hahn butcher shop.

With a combination of tradition and modern concepts, the Hahn butcher shop is optimistic about the future. Son Yannis, who has completed his training in the butcher trade, will join the family business next year. This clearly shows that the Hahn butcher's shop has a long future ahead of it, in which craftsmanship continues to play a central role.

For the Hahn butcher's shop, this 75-year history is not only a reason to celebrate, but also a commitment to continue to offer the highest quality and best service. Because one thing is certain: the love for the craft and the connection to the community will remain as strong as ever in the coming years.
