A dramatic traffic situation occurred on Wednesday afternoon on the state road between Lauterbach and Schlitz. Two women were injured in a head-on crash Lauterbacher Anzeiger reported. The incident occurred when a 42-year-old Hyundai driver from Lauterbach wanted to turn onto the K72 to Wernges at the intersection of the L3140. At that moment an interaction occurred that had fatal consequences for everyone involved.
The 18-year-old Audi driver from Hünfeld tried to avoid a collision with the Hyundai, but lost control of her vehicle. This led to a head-on collision with a VW Golf driven by a 67-year-old woman from Alsfeld. Both injured drivers then had to be taken to hospitals for medical treatment. The total damage is estimated at around 10,000 euros.
Necessary operational measures
The Lauterbach fire department was quickly on the scene and took care of binding any leaking operating materials. With 15 emergency services, a lane was also cleared for flowing traffic. “The team reacted immediately and prevented anything worse from happening,” said a spokesman for the local fire department.
