Bad Nauheim increases garbage fees – citizens have to dig deeper into their pockets!
Life in Bad Nauheim will be a little more expensive in the near future, at least when it comes to garbage collection and street cleaning. At a recent meeting, the city's main and finance committee unanimously decided to increase the fees for waste disposal - a decision that now has to be confirmed by the city parliament. As the Frankfurter Neue Presse reported, the increase is described as moderate, but for many citizens this could represent an additional item in the already tightly calculated budget.
The reserve of 333,288 euros will not be enough to cover the increasing costs over the next four years. In particular, CO2 certificates for waste incineration drive up costs. The fee increase covers different types of garbage cans. For example, a 60-liter residual waste container will now cost 5.10 euros instead of 4.81 euros per month. The fees for street cleaning will also increase: in the first cleaning class the price will increase from 10.20 euros to 10.90 euros.
New fees in detail
But that's not all: the new fees are also not without costs for residual waste bins. The following are the most important adjustments:
- 120-Liter-Tonne: von 9,63 Euro auf 10,25 Euro pro Monat
- 240-Liter-Tonne: von 19,26 Euro auf 20,50 Euro pro Monat
- 1,1 Kubikmeter: von 88,27 Euro auf 94 Euro pro Monat
- Biomüll 120 Liter: von 8,84 Euro auf 9,75 Euro
- Biomüll 240 Liter: von 17,68 Euro auf 19,50 Euro
- Altpapier für 120 Liter: von 0,65 Euro auf 0,70 Euro
- Einmalige Sperrmüllabfuhr: von 20 Euro auf 25 Euro
The option of bulky waste collection is very popular, but not every large item is included. Loud bad-nauheim.de The list of prohibited waste includes car parts, construction site waste and many more, while bulky waste equipment can be disposed of free of charge at the spa and service facility's construction depot.
The city in view
Bad Nauheim relies on its own garbage trucks for collection. Five garbage trucks are in use, with around 57% of the waste disposal costs being incurred by external service providers. The city is making a lot of effort to inform its citizens about the new regulations. Further details will be published in the new waste regulations, which are available on the city's website.
The challenges facing Bad Nauheim are not only financial, but also in the context of general waste disposal. Citizens are encouraged to pass on or offer functional old appliances and furniture in order to reduce waste production and protect the environment.
The current developments in Bad Nauheim not only create a new fee regime, but also background ideas for a more conscious use of resources. All that remains is to hope that everyone involved has a good hand in getting the financial challenges under control while at the same time keeping the environment in mind.
