Millionaires in Hesse: Nidda surpasses Wiesbaden with record income!
There are currently more income millionaires in Hesse than ever before. According to the latest figures from 2021, which are based on an analysis by the State Statistical Office in Wiesbaden, the number of these wealthy taxpayers has increased by a remarkable 21.3 percent to a total of 2,856 compared to the previous year. This shows that the rich in Hesse apparently do good business even in tough times.
Last year, these income millionaires made an impressive total income of 8.7 billion euros, which corresponds to 5.5 percent of the total income in Hesse. If you break it down to individual millionaires, you get an average income of 3.1 million euros. The tax revenue from this high income amounted to 3.5 billion euros - an impressive increase of 58.2 percent compared to 2020, according to the Frankfurter Neue Presse reported.
Where do the rich live?
In Nidda, a small town in the Wetterau, there are eight millionaires living with an average income of 9.8 million euros. This makes Nidda the richest place in Hesse at the community level, which clearly stands out from other cities. The wealthiest millionaires overall reside in Wiesbaden, where they earn an average of 8.5 million euros.
However, the distribution of millionaires in Hesse is not even. Most live in the Hochtaunus district, especially in Königstein, where there are 62.3 income millionaires per 10,000 inhabitants. Frankfurt am Main follows with 8.2 and the Main-Taunus district with 7.5. These figures make it clear that a certain clientele lives in wealth in these regions, while in other parts of Hesse the income is much more modest.
Who are the income millionaires?
How do these millionaires finance their wealth? The majority derive their income from employment, followed by income from renting and leasing as well as from commercial businesses. Overall, the commercial enterprises generated high income of 5.6 billion euros. A look at the overall statistics in Hesse shows that more than half of taxpayers have annual incomes of up to 35,000 euros, which makes you a little surprised when you see the high number of millionaires.
Economic trends and income distribution raise questions about how society deals with this gap. Given that 53.1 percent of taxpayers in Hesse live on comparatively low incomes, the discrepancy between rich and poor remains an urgent issue.
Overall, however, the trend seems clear: the number of income millionaires in Hesse will continue to rise, which will be important not only for the state budget, but also for discussions about social justice in the region. 2021 was a good year for the rich, and it remains to be seen how this trend will develop in the future. As already Statistics Hesse As noted, growth is also expected in the next few years.
