Live independently: New neighborhood project LebensWert” starts!
In Rockenberg, an exciting information event about the “LebensWert” neighborhood help program took place at the Oppershofen community center. Citizens were extremely interested in the project's initiatives. The aim of “LebensWert” is to enable older people and people with limited health to lead a self-determined life at home while at the same time relieving the burden on relatives. This is achieved through support in everyday life, such as household help, accompaniment to appointments, shopping assistance and joint activities. The project is now being adapted in the area around Rockenberg and Oppershofen.
Mayor Olga Schneider expressed her joy about the positive development of the project in the region. “LebensWert” also offers the opportunity to get involved as a volunteer, for example by providing household help or everyday care. Anyone interested can contact the municipality of Rockenberg or the Bad Nauheim neighborhood help center directly. A contact for questions is Silke Hofmann, who can be reached by email at silke.hofmann@rockenberg.de. If you would like to contact the Bad Nauheim Neighborhood Help Center by phone, you can reach them on 06032 9232-141 or via email at serviceteam@nachbarschaftshilfe-bn.de.
Great interest in volunteer support
Commitment to neighborhood help not only reflects the need for social support, but also good cooperation within the community. This project allows many people to come together to help each other and be there for each other. The events and offerings are designed to promote individual well-being and a sense of community.
In a completely different corner of the events, it becomes clear that celebrating together is also a trend. Bored Trading Café, a pop-up café inspired by café parties in the USA, opened in Philadelphia's Old City. There, visitors can enjoy music, play retro video games and indulge in culinary delights. The aim is to create a warm communal experience with a special menu that includes, among other things, smash burgers and cookie sundaes. This type of activity shows that the need for social encounters and a convivial atmosphere is very important, even over long distances. You can find more information about this at NFT Philly and Tristate Degens.
A look into the history of television
Another exciting story comes from the world of television: Katie Irene Gosselin, better known as Kate Gosselin, rose to fame on the reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8”. With her twins
and later the sextuplets she caused a lot of attention. Her journey as a mother was documented on television in 2004 and quickly reached millions of viewers. From her beginnings in Pennsylvania to her move to North Carolina, her life has changed dramatically. The challenges she endured - from the birth of her children to public arguments with her ex-husband Jon - make her a fascinating figure in modern reality TV history. Gosselin has made a name for herself not only as a mother, but also as an entrepreneur and has even published several books.
Whether in neighborhood help or in the pop-up café – a strong sense of community is created in Rockenberg and beyond. Current developments show that the desire for cohesion and support in society remains unbroken. For everyone who wants to be actively involved or just enjoy being together, there are many opportunities to get involved and become part of the many lively projects.
