In the municipality of Apen we are lending a hand again! A volunteer handyman service is available for seniors who need assistance with small repairs. After a six-month break during which help was not available, the Seniors' Advisory Board found a new helper, Svend Neve, to restart the service. This reports NWZ Online.
The handyman service is aimed specifically at older people in Apen and offers help with everyday household repairs, such as changing light bulbs, fixing squeaky doors or hanging pictures. The support is provided on a voluntary basis and for a small allowance of ten euros. All missions are insured and are coordinated by the seniors' advisory board, led by Reinhard Glaffig.

In the past, the craft service recorded between 20 and 30 assignments per year. However, the use of materials must be borne by the person seeking help. The offer is part of the “Seniors Helping Seniors” project, which was initiated by the Seniors Advisory Board to support older citizens.
