Johann Kühme becomes patient advocate at the Ammerland Clinic in Westerstede!
Johann Kühme, the former police chief, has taken on a new, important role: he is now a patient advocate at the Ammerland Clinic in Westerstede. With this function, he will create a neutral contact point for patients and their relatives so that they can express their concerns and concerns without fear of disadvantage. Kühme, who was approached by former district administrator Jörg Bensberg for this voluntary task, attaches particular importance to the independence of his role. He is not bound by instructions and can therefore communicate openly with all those responsible at the clinic. This promotes a climate of trust and openness.
Kühme offers personal consultation hours on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The consultation hours take place in his office on the 3rd floor of House A of the Ammerland Clinic. Various communication options are available for patients who prefer telephone or digital contact. You can be reached by telephone at 04488/504730 and also by email patientenfuersprach@ammerland-klinik.de can be used.
Open ears for complaints
Patients' complaints usually begin with a simple phone call or email. Kühme will then take care of the issue and provide appropriate feedback. An annual report on its work is presented to the clinic's board of directors; Anonymized cases are reported to the state. Kühme brings with him extensive experience in dealing with conflicts from his time as police chief and is therefore ideally prepared for his new task.
In addition to his work as a patient advocate, Kühme has also taken on the responsibility of chairman of the clinic's supervisory board. This role includes, among other things, strategic control and supporting the clinic management in its various concerns.
Commitment to diversity and accessibility
The Ammerland Clinic is also committed to other areas. Patients are supported with language barriers and digital translation services are available to make communication easier. This is particularly important in order to do justice to all patients and to make their stay in the clinic as pleasant as possible.
In addition to the work in the Ammerland Clinic, other social programs that support people in special circumstances should not be ignored. An example of this is the Cadastro Único (CadÚnico) in Brazil, which allows families with a monthly income of up to half the minimum wage access to over 30 social programs such as Bolsa Família or Tarifa Social de Energia Elétrica. This shows how important such initiatives are to help people and promote social justice. Families can register for free and should bring all necessary documents to receive support.
Whether in Westerstede or elsewhere, it is essential that voices are heard and necessary support is provided to ensure solidarity. Information and help are the key to reducing barriers in healthcare and ensuring justice for every person.
