The table tennis fans in Holtriem have reason to be happy: TTG Nord Holtriem is starting the 2025/26 table tennis season at district level with four men's teams. Although the club has endured some bitter experiences over the past year, including relegations and missed promotions, the restructuring has proven fruitful. The first men's team will compete in the West District League, while TTG Nord Holtriem II and SV Nortmoor have been promoted from the 1st District League to the same league. New to the West District League are, among others, the champions of the 1st district classes: SV Stapelmoor and SV Süderneuland, as NWZonline reports.

The TTG Nord Holtriem II remains in the 1st district class Aurich/Wittmund, while the third men's team moves up to the 1st district class after the runner-up in the 2nd district class forego promotion. The league's reforms are also notable, as teams in the district divisions are switched from teams of six to teams of four. This becomes clear in the men's 2nd district class, where the relay is expanded from eight to twelve teams.

Promotions and returns

There is also news in the lower leagues. TTG Nord Holtriem IV will be promoted from the District League East to the 2nd district class. The fans can also look forward to the return of TG Ardorf as relegated teams. In the district leagues, TuS Weene and SV Wittmund as well as the relegation participants TSV Holtrop, SG Sandhorst/Walle IV and TuS Victorbur also have the opportunity to move up to higher leagues, according to myTischtennis.

In general, the coming season will be exciting. TTG Nord Holtriem appears to be well positioned to master the challenges of the new league formats. With a breath of fresh air from the structural changes and motivated players, this season could be a groundbreaking step for the club.
