Something right is being done in Braunschweig for a good cause: André Ebeling, a committed Volkswagen employee, has been supporting the “Löwenherz” children’s hospice for several years. His “Cycling for Lionheart” project has not only gained momentum within eight years, but has also increased the willingness of people in the region to donate. Initially just 130 euros were collected, but last year an impressive sum of 8,000 euros was raised, which will now flow back into the valuable work of the children's hospice. As news38.de reports, Ebeling is planning a “Charity Day” in the Hygia fitness studio for September. There is a colorful program here with various courses, sauna infusions and offers for children. Everyone is sure to get their money’s worth!
Ebeling also has a special idea to symbolically deliver the collected donations: On September 20th, for the children's hospice's birthday, he wants to go on a nighttime tour of around 180 kilometers to Syke on his blue touring bike. The plan is to travel from Braunschweig, where he will start the evening before at the Eintracht Stadium and then arrive in around 14 hours - depending on the weather. On this occasion everyone is invited to make their contribution and support the Löwenherz children's hospice.

Löwenherz continues to rely on the generous support of the population. As highlighted on the Löwenherz official website, donations are a fundamental pillar for the existence of the children's hospice. Over 2.2 million euros are necessary annually to maintain operations, while an additional 600,000 euros are required for outpatient children's hospice work. Only half of the costs are covered by health insurance companies, which is why the commitment of donors and volunteers is essential. This facility offers comprehensive care for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families, combining medical care with emotional support and thus creating an environment that conveys security. The next day of children's hospice work will take place on February 10th.
