Be careful, Roxette fans! Fake tickets for a non-existent concert!
In recent weeks, worrying rumors have spread in Braunschweig: Tickets for a concert by the popular Swedish pop band Roxette were supposed to be on sale. But the reality looks different. The Braunschweig State Theater warns urgently about counterfeit tickets for a non-existent event. In fact, the band is currently not planning a concert in Braunschweig, as the theater emphasizes.
Although Roxette is performing with a new singer after the tragic death of frontwoman Marie Fredriksson, there is no reason for a concert in the Lower Saxony city. Instead, a real event is expected in Hamburg in November. Nevertheless, fake tickets for the supposed Braunschweig concert are circulating through unofficial channels, which of course leads to confusion. The State Theater therefore recommends purchasing tickets only through official sales outlets.
Warning about scams
The tickets offered by scammers raise the hopes of many fans, but this hope could quickly turn into disappointment. Often the sellers of such fake tickets cannot be reached, making it difficult for victims to get their money back. In the worst case, you could not only lose your money, but also be left with additional costs for travel and overnight stays. Alexander Wahl from EVZ Germany therefore advises initiating a chargeback with the bank for credit card payments. With other payment methods, such as bank transfers, the only option is often to go to the police to report the fraud. Experts also recommend making such reports to prevent other people from being defrauded.
Those affected should contact the police immediately to demonstrate the extent of the fraud. Unfortunately, it turns out that fraud is also increasing in other areas, as shown by a case of a Greifswalder who lost 75,000 euros to fraudsters. In this case, the traces lead to Russia. This type of fraud is not an isolated case, so all citizens should be aware.
The clear message is: stay away from unverified sources when it comes to buying tickets. To protect your own nerves and money, you should make sure you only buy from trustworthy suppliers. Events that are well organized and where there is genuine interest from fans are very popular - but please only through official channels.
