On Sunday, June 29, 2025, the eagerly awaited Cloppenburg Riding Days took place, where the best riders in the region competed for the Weser-Ems championship titles and the grand prizes. The event attracted numerous spectators and proved to be a true highlight in calendar equestrian sport. Kai Thomann from the Falkenberg riding and driving group was able to secure the Grand Prix of Public Insurance this afternoon. This was a very special moment for him as it was his first win at this prestigious event. Thomann impressed in an amazing jump-off in which he set a best time of 32.65 seconds, followed by Sandra Wilharm, who was only 0.18 seconds slower. Emelie Pieper from RV Hellefeld rounded off the top three.
Championship results
The Weser-Ems show jumping championship was won by Tobias Schwarz from RV Oldenburger Münsterland. Thomas Schulze from RuFV St. Georg Georgsmarienhütte triumphed in dressage. The conditions on the 1,300 square meter jumping arena were optimal, so that even the challenging obstacles up to 1.45 meters high did not represent an insurmountable hurdle for the top riders. Well-known faces like Guido Klatte Jr. and Patrick Bölle were also at the start, but were unable to win this time.
