Four scholarships for doctors from Oldenburger Münsterland to Prague!

In times when doctors are in high demand, the Sister Euthymia Foundation opens up very special opportunities for young talents from the Oldenburger Münsterland. This October, a new phase of life begins for four scholarship holders at the renowned Charles University in Prague. The foundation has launched a cooperation with the university to specifically counteract the shortage of study places in medicine. OM online reports that the scholarship holders are Laura Hermes (Cloppenburg), Hannah Mönnig (Essen), Felice Ostermann (Löningen) and Merle Thoben (Vechta).

The special? A numerus clausus is not required. Instead, the prospective doctors have to pass a demanding entrance test that took place in Vechta. Examiners from the First and Second Medical Faculty traveled specifically for this purpose. Ulrich Pelster, the foundation's chairman, expressed his optimism and did not put a damper on the wishes for the success of the scholarship holders, while the Vechta district and the law firm BRL Boege Rohde Luebbehuesen from Hamburg are also each taking on a scholarship.

Important support for the scholarship holders

District Administrator Tobias Gerdesmeyer and First District Councilor Hartmut Heinen were confident and wished the aspiring doctors all the best on their journey. The support is no coincidence; The law firm has gained insight into the need for such initiatives through its close collaboration with the Cloppenburg Hospital. What is particularly noteworthy is that the degree from Charles University in Prague is internationally recognized and the teaching takes place predominantly in English.

The General Medicine course lasts six years, divided into three years of preclinical training and three years of practical learning. There are 150 places available each year, which promises the scholarship holders an excellent education.

Information events in the region

Information events are held in August and September for all interested students in years 12 and 13. The dates are as follows:

  • 26. August um 17 Uhr im St.-Josefs-Hospital Cloppenburg (Mariensaal)
  • 1. September um 17 Uhr im Krankenhaus St. Elisabeth Damme (Raum Alte Kapelle)
  • 2. September um 17 Uhr im St. Marienhospital Vechta (Niels Stensen Haus Vechta, Raum Amsterdam)

These events offer a valuable opportunity to find out more about studying and scholarship opportunities.

Regardless of whether you are a medical student or a prospective doctor – everyone knows the challenges that studying brings with it. Things can also be turbulent in other areas, such as after an accident. In such times it stands Levar Law Firm with help and advice.
