New playground in Lamstedt: residents pitch in together!

The mood in Lamstedt is great, because the newly designated “Wiesenblick” development area is completely sold out. Mayor Manfred Knust is pleased about the construction boom in the Börde center and reports on a successful construction and commercial space policy. Almost all of the houses have now been built and the last ones are currently being completed. The residents not only did their best to build their own four walls, but also actively contributed to the creation of a very special leisure resort.

A large playground that has been created in the “Wiesenblick” development area will soon contribute to the children’s enjoyment of playing. The residents invested many hours of their free time to assemble the play equipment. Supported by the community, who made the neighborhood's final party possible thanks to the costs saved, they built a modern play combination, a seesaw, a double swing and two spring seesaw animals. There is also enough space to play, a sand play area and a comfortable seating area.

A place for the young

The playground was not only planned with a lot of love, but also with a focus on safety. Mayor Knust emphasizes that many cubic meters of fall protection sand were installed to create a safe playing environment for the little adventurers. A boxwood hedge, which is also maintained by the residents, provides the demarcation. This has created a place that ideally promotes children's activities and creativity - in keeping with the goals of the Playground initiative, which advocates the renovation and redesign of play spaces in Germany.

The Wiesenblick construction area

The “Wiesenblick” development area extends over 3.5 hectares and offers a total of 30 building sites that were quickly allocated. The mayor said the property was provided in exchange by farmer Bernd Lünsmann, and the pricing of 21 euros per square meter remains a lucrative offer for many. In addition, the community is planning a flower meadow to take climate change and species protection into account. We are also looking for beekeepers who are willing to set up beehives. Information about this is available at the town hall. These measures show that Lamstedt not only focuses on housing construction, but also on a livable environment for the entire population.

With a successful mix of living space, leisure activities and citizen engagement, Lamstedt has found a recipe that is not only well received, but also sends a positive signal for the future of the community. Mayor Manfred Knust rightly emphasizes the voluntary commitment of the residents and confirms that the investments in the neighborhood are paying off in full.
